TEAM NEWS UPDATE

Promoter David Hemsley and his Team Manager Norrie Allan attended the final round of the Grand Prix series in Poland on Saturday and whilst there they planned to open talks with Jason Doyle and another unnamed rider who was racing in the meeting that night.

Doyle, who has qualified for next season’s competition after finishing second after a run-off with Matej Zagar in Italy last month was also in the country as he had been selected for the Rest of the World team to face Poland on Sunday at Rybnik.

A preliminary discussion took place between Jason Doyle and Norrie Allan on practice day at the Grand Prix at the Torun track in Poland but unfortunately the Rapid Solicitors Lions number 1 was unable to make the appointment on Saturday to talk to Hemsley.

“It was a little disappointing that the meeting did not happen but it was not a total waste of time as it gave me an opportunity to have a discussion with another rider who we are interested in offering terms to and Norrie was able to sound out other options we have in mind about the possibility of riding for Leicester next season. We acknowledge that we can only go so far with team building plans because until the points limit has been decided at next month’s Annual General Meeting we are unsure of what numbers we have to play with in terms of riders’ averages. What is for certain is that we are committed to building a team that has the potential to play a part in the chase for honours next season. To do that our home form has to be more robust than it was and whilst we picked up the odd consolation bonus point away from home those near misses will need to be converted into wins if we are to achieve our goal of improving upon the results of the season just ended” commented David Hemsley.
